Downtown, the older frame houses have front porches, posts, railings and dormers, so there is a great deal more worth following than a gutter line. They also tend to have exactly one outdoor outlet. The newer neighborhoods are straighter work, vinyl fascia and standard gables, where the gap between a good job and a bad one comes down to spacing and clip choice instead of complexity.
